This paper evaluates the association between body mass index (BMI) and work efficiency among female workers in the foundry industry of Ajmer, Rajasthan. 30 employees aged between 20 and 55 years were surveyed using the Nordic Standard Questionnaire to collect anthropometric data and workplace observations. From the data gathered, results show the mean work efficiency of workers were 55.08%, and the mean BMI was 22.77 kg/m². According to Pearson’s, Statistical analysis showed a negative association (r = -0.47, p = 0.008), indicating that higher BMI is related to low work efficiency. workers with underweight and obese were less efficient compared to those with a normal BMI. This study explains the significance of a normal BMI range for optimal work performance and ergonomic health in foundry industries.
