Guidelines to Authors

Our website (The Scientific Temper) has been under continuous cyberattacks from various places and agencies since last many months. We are making it stronger with added and updated security features. However, if you are facing difficulties in uploading, submitting the required details etc., after registration on the website you can send articles by mail to any of the following E-Mail IDs:

RESEARCH ARTICLE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

All manuscripts submitted to The Scientific Temper are required to be authentic, original, unpublished, and not under being evaluated in another journal.

Articles must be written in:

Microsoft Word (doc or .docx) format
A4 paper size (210 × 297 mm).
Single-column layout throughout the
Twelve-point font. The suggested font is Times New Roman, which is predominantly used font throughout all prominent multinational scholarly journals in science, engineering, social sciences, and humanities.
The other easy to read fonts such as Calibri, Arial, or Verdana are also allowed to be used on the condition that is steadily applied throughout entirely the article.
Double spacing across the document, including citations, data tables, figure descriptions, and supplementary materials/appendices.
Margins of minimum of 1.5 inches on all sides.
Sequential document page numbering in the bottom margin area/footer.
Left-justified or fully aligned text across the
Automated passage line gaps or intervals must be avoided and maintain standardized paragraph
All main headings and secondary headers should adhere to well-defined, multi-level
Manuscripts to be forwarded must be in editable text format; PDF files can be attached and uploaded as supporting documents, but not as the main submission document.

Language

The academic journal welcomes submissions produced either in British English or Indian Standard English.

The contributors with English not as first language are advised to have their manuscripts professionally proofread and revised before final submission.
Uniformity in word form standards is essentially to be upheld throughout the manuscript (e.g., organisation/organization, behaviour/behavior).
Abstracts, conclusions, and references may additionally be furnished in an alternative language at the preference of the contributors; however, the English version shall be treated the version of record.

Group A: Compulsory Sections

Title

Describe the topic, variables, and outcome in a few words (7 to 25) that are consistent with the terminology used in the discipline and free of abbreviations or promotional language.

Author names

Only the full name (matching ORCID and institutional profiles) should be used for authors. The order should be based on the contribution. The use of titles (such as Dr., Prof., Ph.D.) is not allowed.

Affiliation

Specify department, institution, city, state, country and postal code. Provide email address and ORCID (recommended) for the corresponding author; phone numbers may be provided.

Running title

Limit to 50 characters maximum. Reflect the central theme; used in page headers and indexing.

Abstract

The abstract should consist of one paragraph, 150–250 words. Must include Background, Objective, Methodology, Key findings, and Conclusion. Avoid using references, figures, tables or abbreviations that are not defined.

Keywords

Give 5–8 key words which represent key ideas, procedures, or structures. These should aid indexing and discoverability. Don't use the same title or too broad of words. Use at least two words from the title.

Introduction

The introduction should be about 10-20% of the length of the manuscript. It should contain background information, literature review, research gap, justification, aims and research questions or hypotheses. Do not use history stories, textbook explanations or unsupported statements.

Materials & methods

Describe the research design, setting, sampling, participants or materials, instruments, data collection, analysis, statistical procedures and software. The description should be repeatable. If applicable, include ethics approval and informed consent.

Results / findings

Present actual results systematically in tables, figures, graphs and statistical outputs. Avoid interpretation, literature comparison or speculation.

Discussion

Interpret results; compare to previous studies and make observations about agreements and disagreements. Discuss theoretical and practical implications. All claims must be backed up. Avoid restating results.

Conclusion

The conclusion should be 200-500 words summarizing the main points, scholarly contributions, practical applications, and future directions.

Limitations

Clearly outline methodological, sample and dataset limitations. This is advised to give transparency.

Acknowledgements

Include in the acknowledgments the contributions of persons or institutions that do not satisfy the authorship criteria.

Group B - Research Integrity Strongly Recommended

Funding statement

Identify all funding sources and grant number, or state that it was not funded.

Author contributions

Write down each author's individual contribution in the CRediT taxonomy format (preferably).

Data availability

Include a link to the data underlying the results or explicitly state the conditions for data access.

Ethical compliance

Add Ethics Committee Approval Reference, Informed Consent, Animal Ethics Clearance (as appropriate).

Conflict of interest

Identify any financial or personal interests or assert that there are none.

References

Every single in-text cite should be in the list and vice versa. Don't switch between different styles.

Tables

The numbers are to be placed in sequence with the title above each number. Self-explanatory, referenced in the text. Do not duplicate figure data.

Figures

Listed numerically; caption under each. Min 300 DPI. Cited in text.

Group C - Advanced Publishing Recommended

Equations

Numbered sequentially. Define variables the first time they are used, use an equation editor.

Supplementary materials

Use Supplementary A, B, etc. for references in the main text; provide as separate file.

AI use disclosure

Identify AI tools used in writing or analysis (tool name and tool purpose). AI may not be listed as an author. All responsibility for the authors' content remains with the authors.

Review article guidance

For systematic and scoping reviews follow PRISMA guidelines. Narrative reviews should clearly describe the search strategy and include exclusion and/or inclusion criteria.
