In the present study, water sample was collected from river Alaknanda near Srinagar town located in District Pauri of Uttarakhand state. The water samples were tested for the presence of different\ pathogenic bacteria and other chemical parameters by standards methods. The results indicated the presenceof a high degree of chemical and biological impurities in the river.Abstract
